Located along the West coast of Vancouver Island at the outer most boundary of Clayoquot Sound, lies a territory, a nation and a legacy that has existed for thousands of years. The inhabitants of this land are the Hesquiaht. To truly gain an understanding of this sacred ancestral land and it's people with certain authenticity, would be to listen to the elders. The wisdom of the elders is an accumulated enlightenment of traditional knowledge inherited over time. This site attempts to offer a small look and listen into what has been a long existence of Hesquiaht First Nations. Within hesquiaht.org are various collections of audio, film, photography, artifacts and document recordings. These previously seperate collections of recordings have been newly digitised and merged into one place to create a portal for the elders of past Hesquiaht generations to be seen and heard by the generations of today and tommorrow. This site is a continual work in progress with more and more content being added regularly. Welcome to hesquiaht.org!
